01 At a glance
In short
- Deletion is available inside the app: Settings › Privacy › Delete my account, confirmed with your password and a sign-in code.
- Lost access to the app? Use the request form below or email amitaym@osintial-ai.com. We verify that the request comes from the account holder before acting on it.
- Your account is deactivated immediately. After a 14-day grace period everything listed in section 4 is permanently deleted, and we email you a confirmation. Total time: within 30 days, always.
- We keep only what section 5 lists: a security log, billing records our payment provider must retain, and aggregate usage counts with no link to you.
- Deleting a subject, a conversation or a connected account on its own is also possible without closing your account (section 7).
02 Delete from the app
The same path works in the iOS app, the Android app and the web app.
- Open Settings and choose the Privacy tab.
- If you want a copy of your data first, press Export my data. The export is a JSON file with your profile, preferences, subjects, connected publishing accounts (labels only), saved reports, standing questions and your most recent alerts. It never contains passwords, keys, sessions or credentials.
- Press Delete my account and confirm.
- Enter your password and the six-digit code from your email or authenticator app. This is how we know it is really you.
That is all. Your account is deactivated on the spot (section 6 explains what that means), every device is signed out, and you receive an email saying when the permanent deletion will happen.
03 Request deletion without the app
If you have uninstalled the app, lost your password or authenticator, or simply prefer to write to us, send a request from here. We will reply to the address you give, confirm that it is the address on the account (or ask for another proof that the account is yours), and then run exactly the same deletion as the in-app button. You do not need to be signed in.
04 What is deleted
Deleting your account removes every record that is yours or that identifies you. Specifically:
| Data | What happens |
|---|---|
| Account details | Email address, phone number, username, display name, sector, password hash, two-factor secret and settings, Google and Apple sign-in identifiers, and our copy of your billing identifiers are erased. The account record is anonymised (a random placeholder with none of these values) so that references to it elsewhere in our systems no longer identify anyone. |
| Subjects and alerts | Every subject you created, its sources and reference images, every alert raised for it, the events they were grouped into, and the judgements you gave on alerts and events. |
| Research agent | Every conversation and its transcript, the evidence the agent gathered, your feedback on answers, saved reports and standing questions. |
| Cases, watchlists and sites | Cases, notes and watchlists you own, your memberships in other people's cases, and protected sites and reference outlets you configured. |
| Connected accounts | The Telegram session created for your account is ended and its credentials deleted; encrypted publishing credentials for X, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and WhatsApp, the social handles you added, and the publishing history are deleted. |
| Devices and sessions | Every session, device record and push-notification token, so no device can reach the account again and no further notification can be sent. |
| Telegram content fetched through your own account | If your linked Telegram account was ever used to fetch messages, those copies are deleted. They were visible to your account only. |
| Preferences and caches | Your preferences, alert history caches, characterisation and rate-limit counters in our cache layer. |
| Invitations and waitlist | Invitations addressed to your email are anonymised, and your email is removed from the early-access waitlist. |
| Paid plan | An active subscription is cancelled at the moment of deletion, so nothing is charged afterwards. |
Deleting the app from your phone does not delete your account. Use one of the two paths above.
05 What we keep, and why
| Data | Why | For how long |
|---|---|---|
| Security log | A record of sign-ins, two-factor changes, connected-account changes, the deletion request and the deletion itself, with the IP address and browser used. It exists to detect abuse and to prove what happened if a deletion is ever disputed. The deletion entry itself holds only a one-way fingerprint of your email address, never the address. | For as long as reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention and legal obligations. |
| Billing records | Invoices and payment records held by our payment provider, Stripe, which tax and accounting law requires us to retain. We keep no card details. | As required by tax and accounting law. |
| Aggregate usage counts | Counts of AI calls and their cost, used to manage our expenses. After deletion they are no longer linked to any account. | Indefinitely, without any link to you. |
| Public monitored content | Posts published on public channels and accounts that Osintial monitors for its users. This content is not your personal data and is not created by your account; it is shared across the service (Privacy Policy, sections 3.5 and 11). | See the Privacy Policy, section 8. |
| Backups | Encrypted database backups are overwritten on their normal schedule; deleted data is not restored from them. | Backup rotation, no longer than 30 days. |
Nothing else is retained. If you want to be certain a particular item is gone, ask us at the address in section 8.
06 How long it takes, and changing your mind
Immediately: the account is deactivated. Monitoring stops, every subject is disabled, alerts stop, every device is signed out, connected accounts are disabled, and the account can no longer sign in.
After a 14-day grace period: the permanent deletion in section 4 runs automatically, and we email a confirmation to the address that was on the account. The grace period exists so that a deletion made by mistake, or by someone who got hold of your credentials, can be reversed. Requests sent through this page are processed the same way once we have verified them; in every case the deletion is complete within 30 days of the request.
Changed your mind? Before the grace period ends, email amitaym@osintial-ai.com from the address on the account and we will reinstate it with everything intact. After the grace period the deletion cannot be undone, and a new account starts empty.
07 Delete some data without closing the account
You do not have to delete the whole account to remove something:
- A subject and all of its alerts and events: open the subject and choose Remove.
- An agent conversation: delete it from the conversation list. Saved reports and standing questions are deleted from their own lists.
- A connected account (Telegram, X, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, WhatsApp): disconnect it in Settings; its credentials are deleted at once.
- A device: sign out on that device, or sign out everywhere from Settings › Account.
- Push notifications: turn them off in your device settings; the token is dropped the next time the app opens.
For anything else, including data about you that appears in content we monitor, see the Privacy Policy, section 10.
